The True Meaning of Cheer

Last week we here at Goodwill North Central Texas prompted three ways to spread holiday cheer. Little did we know our E-Squared Program acted out Number 3!

Goodwill North Central Texas’s E² (Education and Employment) Program took a break from their GED studies and worksite at Goodwill to spread some holiday cheer at the Salvation Army Friendship housing units in Fort Worth, Texas.  Throughout the month of November the program participants spent a portion of their Friday Life Skills class making holiday door hangers for the residents of the Salvation Army Friendship House. On Friday, December 16 the participants gathered together to hang the decorations on the residents doors and wish everyone a Happy Holidays!

Goodwill North Central Texas’s E² (Education and Employment) Program is designed for youth 16-24 years old to work towards earning their GED and a paycheck. The participants come to Goodwill North Central Texas, and in the morning they work on preparing for the GED test then in the afternoon they go to work for Goodwill to earn a paycheck. In addition every Friday the participants attend a Life Skills class lead by the E² Youth Specialist to address financial literacy, life planning, conflict resolution, and many more life skills to help prepare the youth for a bright and productive future.
