The Will to Work

There is certain type of fulfillment you receive when you work hard for things. No matter what it is, the value of what you earn is so much higher when you’ve earned it yourself.

At Goodwill, we believe in the Power of Work. We strive to provide opportunities for betterment for everyone and since we can’t reach everyone we opened our doors and invited them in.

Thursday, November 2, 2017 we held our Annual Job & Resource Fair where  35+ employers and service providers were willing to put people in the right place to gain employment.

Free shuttles provided by Goodwill transported job seekers from True Worth Place, the Las Vegas Trail area from Serrano Ranch Apartments, and west Fort Worth from Goodwill’s Camp Bowie store to the fair.

Employers participating in the fair were hiring on-the-spot – providing a hand up, not a hand-out to the more than 200 individuals in need that attended.

If you missed the fair, don’t worry – Goodwill Fort Worth provides free resume and cover letter writing, job search, interview skills and attire, connections to employers and funding for emergency services that prevent employment such as transportation year-round through five area job resource centers.
