Goodwill Fort Worth to Celebrate 25 Years in Weatherford
Event to Include Tours of Free Job Resource Center

Goodwill Fort Worth will host a 25 year anniversary celebration of Goodwill Fort Worth in Weatherford, and offer tours and an open house of the location’s Job Resource Center. A proclamation from the Mayor of Weatherford will also be presented. Goodwill’s Weatherford retail store originally opened on November 7, 1994 at 708 Palo Pinto Street and moved to its current location in 1999. The anniversary celebration event will feature a 50% off sale, a live DJ and prize giveaways every hour.
The Job Resource Center (JRC) is open weekly Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and offers free services to job seekers, including:
- Assistance from GoodED, an Adult High School Diploma Online Program
- org and Skills to Succeed
- job search experts to provide job placement services
- One-on-one career counseling
- Employer networking opportunities
- Job readiness training including resume writing, interviewing skills and job search techniques
- appropriate referrals for mental health, housing and more
- Goodwill Works, a job training and placement program for the homeless and those at imminent risk of homelessness
Since the Job Resource Center’s opening in 2004, more than 13,000 Parker County residents have received job training and placement services. In 2018 alone, Goodwill Fort Worth provided job training for 322 individuals from Parker county and placed 175 into employment.
