2018 Goodwill Classic

Billed as a “Tournament of Excellence,” the Goodwill Classic was held on Monday, November 5. Many celebrities and former athletes were involved in the tournament including Honorary Tournament Chair Eddie Robinson, a former Major League Baseball first baseman, scout, coach and front office executive of the 1940s-1980s; Country Music Hall of Fame artist Charley Pride; as well as more than 100 golfers, including several former MLB players, TV personality and Blazing Saddles star Burton Gilliam, and sponsors of the Goodwill Classic, Goodwill Board of Directors and staff members.

The proceeds from this exciting day of golf benefited Goodwill North Central Texas’s job training and placement initiatives focusing on the homeless (GoodwillWorks), at-risk youth (E-Squared), veterans (VetWorthy), the disadvantaged and the disabled (S.T.A.R.S.).

Since its inception in 2008, more than $1.34 million has been given in scholarships, assisting 672 graduates of NTI vocational training programs. In 2017, 9,562 lives were touched through Goodwill’s Workforce Development Programs.

More than 100 golfers participated in the eleventh annual tournament. The 2018 tournament raised $TBD for the organization.
