Employment Services

NORTH TEXAS INSTITUTE FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Goodwill's Career Development and Training Services not only help those seeking employment, but also help assure employers satisfaction with the personnel they hire. This department provides the services, vocational assessment, training and skills needed by many individuals to become self-sufficient.

Individualized Plans
Traditionally, Goodwill has focused such services toward persons with disabilities, but they are available to anyone desiring to work. Goodwill's Employment Services center on the needs of all who enter the program, so they might secure employment that meets their own goals. Assessment, pre-employment training, job search training, individualized placement assistance, job coaching, and retention assistance may be included in the individual's customized plan. Please direct all inquiries to Tina Ramirez: tramirez@goodwillfw.or or call (817) 332-7866 ext. 271.

Business Skills Training
Business Skills are taught through the North Texas Institute for Career Development (NTI). Services range from an intensive course that teaches modern office skills to short courses available in community-based evening classes. Through NTI, Goodwill contracts with local businesses to teach software to their employees. Please direct all inquiries to Yolanda Carey: ycarey@goodwillfw.org or call (817)332-7866 ext. 260.

Janitorial Skills
In partnership with Goodwill's premier Janitorial Services, training is offered in janitorial skills. Graduates have the opportunity to work for Goodwill or for other employers in the community. Please direct all inquiries to
LaVan Scott: lscott@goodwillfw.org or call (817) 332-7866 ext. 239.

Success Skills
Goodwill's paid work experience assists individuals in learning the skills to succeed in today's workforce. Through actual work experience and classroom instruction, individuals learn teamwork, attendance, attitude and appearance -- "soft skills" required by today's employers.
