A GOOD THING
In today’s rapidly-expanding world of information technology, many are left behind. Goodwill’s Computer Works is bridging this “Digital Divide” by providing computers to those who may not otherwise have access to the most current technologies. Our complete systems begin as low as $50, and range up to the most sophisticated custom-built new systems for high-end users or businesses.
EARTH FRIENDLY
The disposal of outdated and unusable computer equipment is a growing problem in our community. Computer Works is helping to ease this challenge. We focus exclusively on the sale of donated computers to generate income for Goodwill programs, and at the same time save room in the landfill.
HOW WE DO IT
Using donated computer equipment as “raw material” we test, refurbish, disassemble, and salvage all parts. Working equipment is rebuilt into computers for sale, as is all computer peripherals. Equipment is also sold to the tech, hobbyist, or do-it-yourselfer. Nonfunctioning computers are recycled.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Computer Works relies on a steady flow of computer donations from various sources. We welcome donations from individuals, corporations, small businesses, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and government agencies.
We welcome any donation of PC, printer, computer peripheral, or office equipment. Donations can be made at any Goodwill Store or Attended Donation Center, or by calling Computer Works at 817-534-4493, ext. 290, to speak to Ray Jones at
rjones@goodwillfw.org.
Tax receipts are provided to donors for possible tax deductions. Unfortunately, some mainframe, minicomputers, terminals and proprietary systems cannot be accepted.
